The Rasnic  journey began in 2022, ignited by a conversation between two ambitious cousins, Rochelle Bakare and Rasaun Nicholson, in the vibrant city of Virginia Beach. At that time, Rochelle was immersed in real estate investing and IT project management, but after being inspired by a construction project manager at a conference, she envisioned a future in construction. Unbeknownst to her, Rasaun was already deeply entrenched in the industry, managing projects and refining his skills for over a decade, specializing in the installation of acoustical wall panels and ceilings in colleges, hospitals, theaters, and more. His go-getter attitude fueled his ambition to start his own company, and Rochelle’s drive and resilience made her the perfect partner for his vision.

After a few weeks of brainstorming and research, Rochelle was all in, united by their shared passion for enhancing building structures and uplifting their communities. With Rochelle's robust background in strategic leadership, project management, and overseeing investment property rehabs, combined with Rasaun’s extensive construction expertise, they launched Rasnic Contracting on March 20, 2022.

Starting small, they took on various home improvement and commercial projects throughout the Hampton Roads area while focusing on building a strong team. Their hard work paid off in 2024 when they secured their first major contract, an acoustical ceiling installation at a 100,000 square foot school in Virginia Beach. 

Rochelle and Rasaun remain steadfast in their commitment to delivering quality services with excellence. Their vision is clear: to become a leader in the construction industry, transforming not just buildings but the communities they serve.
